STORING OF PILES
Planks are more often delivered in packets. They should be stored outside, laid flat and packed tightly against each other, this will prevent the loss of humidity wich could in turn lead to torsion and cracking. During the time of storage, It is strongly recommended to leave packets intact for as long as possible and to protect the wood from intense sunshine by covering it with a tarpaulin or a black PVC cover. These conditions are the same for all other ekki applications.
FORM
The high density of this wood makes its use in water easy; The fitting together of planks is done by tongue and groove:
- In the form of a fish tail for very thin piles.
- In trapezium form for the others.
| Piles can be equiped with a notch to facilitate plugging. The angle of this notch depends on the nature of the ground. | ||

The width of piles varies from 15 to 55cm depending on the flow in the channel (width fixed
on demand). However for piles of more than 8cm thick, widths of 20cm plus are often used.
PUTTING INTO USEThis is done as for metallic piles. However, to obtain a good join it is advisable to use a small hand winch. |

ANCHORSAnchors can be formed from ekki panels or from shuttering assembled into panel. The shutters of piles are in most cases more rigid and stable, and are often thinner and shorter wich makes them more economical. The dimensions of the sole of the anchorage will be studied later on. |
